Cookie & Local Storage Policy

Client-Side Local Storage vs. Invasive Cookies
Why Money Reset Lab avoids tracking you across the web
Traditional web applications use third-party tracking cookies to follow you across the internet and build advertising profiles. Money Reset Lab does not use third-party tracking cookies. Instead, we utilize your web browser's isolated localStorage to remember your debts, savings tactics, and theme preference directly on your personal device.
1. What is Browser Local Storage?
localStorage is a secure, standard feature built into all modern web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). It allows a website to store small pieces of text directly on your device rather than sending that data back and forth to a web server.
When you enter your credit card balances or monthly budget numbers, they are saved locally in your browser sandbox. When you close the browser tab and return tomorrow, your numbers are still there waiting for you—without ever having touched our servers.
2. Exact Storage Keys Used by Money Reset Lab
In the spirit of complete transparency, here is the full list of data keys stored in your browser by our application:
| Storage Key | Purpose | Expiration |
|---|---|---|
| money_reset_debts | Stores the list of debts, balances, and APRs you entered in the Debt Planner. | Persistent until cleared |
| money_reset_extra_payment | Stores your selected monthly extra payment acceleration amount. | Persistent until cleared |
| money_reset_savings | Remembers your checked items in the Money Saving Playbook. | Persistent until cleared |
| money_reset_theme | Remembers your preference between Dark Mode and Light Mode. | Persistent until cleared |
| money_reset_challenge | Tracks completed days and tasks in the 7-Day Money Reset Sprint. | Persistent until cleared |
3. How to Clear Your Data
You have 100% control over the data stored on your device:
- Directly inside the tool: On the Debt Planner or Savings Playbook, clicking the "Reset" button immediately wipes the active local storage keys.
- Via browser settings: You can clear your browser cookies and site storage at any time by navigating to your browser's Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data > Cookies and Site Data.
